She spent her whole life surrounded by the fashion world: through her mother who once a model, from there she knew designers, including Edward Hutabarat, witnessed what photo shoots and fashion shows looked like. It was in her veins, she loved it, but yet to realize that it’s the ultimate passion in her life. Growing up, she subscribed to Vogue and Marie Claire magazines. Still not realizing her passion, she once thought to major in Industrial Engineering, but then her focus shifted to fashion when she naturally knows how to style people.

To BOmagz, she shared her childhood, that since she was a kid, she loved styling her nieces with her grandma’s scarves. And when I got myself involved in this world, styling just comes naturally.”

During her college years, she decided to major in Visual Communication Design and it was such a pleasant surprise when she found out that Design Editorial was included in the major. Together with her friend, she tried to make a runway-ish attire and styled the singer Andien. Ayla kemudian menjadi fashion stylist di sebuah majalah, karirnya kemudian beranjak menjadi Editor in Chief sebuah majalah online. Throughout these working years, she developed quite the massive fans who are fond of her style. The 29-year-old fashion stylist is now known as, quoted from her Instagram page, Content Creator, Fashion Stylist, Editor. And of course one of the most famous Instagram buzzers.

When it comes to styling, what is your signature? We’ve seen that over the times, you’ve always loved accents and layered outfit.

Karena menurut aku, more is more, bukan less is more. So why don’t I explore the concept more and be playful with accents and layered style. Besides of my boyish and sporty look, layering is also one of my signatures.

Besides fashion, what were the things that interested you the most?
When it comes to logical and technical stuff, I love it.”

Tell us the first idea why you decided to make your own YouTube channel?
For people to know the real Ayla, bagaimana orang-orang bisa mengenal lbih dalam lagi. I will also launch my own website, the initial launching date was supposed to be on January, everything is all prepared but there was a problem in the graphic designs. Since they’re handling a lot of content creators, I have to wait for the final design and content.

Any difficulties in making your first vlog? Choosing the background songs without stumbling on copyright infringement, or editing?

Talking about your travel vlogs, we notice that you’ve traveled a lot, any recommendations for BOmagz readers?
The latter one is so beautiful. It has the smoothest sand in the world, dan biasanya di bulan Juli banyak burung pelikan. Kalau di luar negeri, rekomendasi aku adalah Turki, it was my best trip. Aku sendiri ingin sekali ke India because I like that the country is so cultured, Buthan juga – negara dengan tingkat kebahagiaan tertinggi di dunia.

You also traveled to Japan and in one of your vlogs, you shared your best #OOTD and shopping items from various brands. If you were a fashion brand, what brand would you be?
“Toga, a fashion brand from Japan, I love their complex designs, a bit of boyish and cowboyish. They also infuse a touch of industrialism, sometimes they also implement metal materials. Their designs are fashionable, but with the right twist. For example, instead of using fur, they used feather, also their choice of bold colors, like green, blue, black, and maroon. Their shoes are my recent fave items.”

Pick one celebrity that you would love to visit their wardrobe?
“Fashion blogger Leandra Medine, the founder of Man Repeller. I have a feeling that her wardrobe is full of unique outfits, because the way she sees herself is so playful, so witty, and different than others. For me, she’s not following the trends, but she created the trends.”
