Standing tall and proud for more than 20 years in the capital, Shangri-La Hotel is serving the best service down to the last details. That also includes the new addition to the five-star hotel: JIA, a restaurant aims to cater your delectable Asian cuisine craving. The restaurant is a new contemporary Chinese dining established in January 2017, replacing the then Shang Palace.
Remodeling the former restaurant, JIA brings an intimate overall feel with its wooden accent that mostly dominates the ambience. JIA also promotes earthy colors like black, brown, grey and white, and modern ornamental wooden panels. Menu wise, the eatery preserves the authenticity of its recipe and flavor—serving the classic Chinese dishes and new modern menus suitable for modern taste.
Those in love with the softest texture of noodles might want to resort in these two options: La Mian noodle soup with braised pork belly, or the La Zhou La Mian noodle soup with beef shank, served by its La Mian specialist chef from China.
If you’re fond of dimsum delicacy, these options probably ideal to your liking: steamed seafood dumplings with crab meat and tobiko, steamed custard buns with salted egg yolk, steamed soup crab meat and pork dumpling, or steamed rice roll with crispy shrimp. Not only specialize in noodles and dim sum, JIA also provides a gastronomy getaway in their crispy beef in honey sauce, braised US beef short ribs with pear, and steamed beef balls with bean curd skin.
For the seafood fiest, JIA presents the crunchiness of crispy prawn with wasabi mayonnaise and almond flakes, or you’d like to have the prawns with steamed rice, you might want to try the steamed rice roll with crispy shrimp. Scallop fans really should have a go at their bakes scallop stuffed with shrimp paste and home made bean curn in barbecue sauce! It is divine. Last but not least, BOmagz also recommends you to try the deep-fried minced chicken and seafood puffs in curry-coconut sauce.
And of course, the infamous Peking duck served with a light and bubbly champagne. A matchmade in heaven. Wrap up the delightful food journey with the perfect desserts of steamed durian cake and fried swan pastry with almond custard. All of the dishes are presented in high quality; from the richness of the flavor to the presentation. Surely, JIA is the best place to spend your lunch and dinner with your family with its homey atmosphere. Compatible with its name – JIA, which in Chinese means ‘home’ and ‘first’. JIA is expected to fulfill your expectation at the first bite.
